Accounts Assistant 

We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our team based at our Head office in High Wycombe. This is a great opportunity to learn and develop within our Finance Team.

About the Role:

    • Raise Invoices and Proforma’s for Daily hires to customers – ensuring accuracy in amounts and VAT rates applied and ensuring alignment between systems.
    • Raise monthly invoices for weekly hired equipment.
    • Set up new customers and support the Finance manager with credit checks, agreeing terms and assigning credit limits.
    • Supporting the Finance manger on Credit Control helping to ensure that payments are received in a timely manner and the risk of bad debts is minimised and good credit control is maintained at all times
    • Process customer card payments and refunds when required.
    • Send out monthly statements to customers.
    • Work with Hire desk/Sales teams to resolve customer invoice queries.
    • Dealing with customer email/phone queries
    • Provide support to other departments during busy periods
    • Any other ad hoc tasks required by the business

 

About you:

  • Previous Sales ledger experience is essential
  • Highly proficient on Excel and experienced with different accounting systems namely Sage50 but training will be provided if necessary.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry, namely CIS and Domestic vat reverse charge.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
  • Can work without close supervision, prioritise effectively and deliver to deadlines without compromising on quality
  • Someone with strong verbal communication skills to communicate with a diverse range of people
  • Someone with the written communication skills to produce succinct correspondence.
  • Someone who can commit to providing excellent customer service

Hours:

Office based role between 8:30am – 5:30pm

 

Salary:

£28k – £32k per year
